This chakra is, as noted, located in the throat and is often shown as being at an upwards angle. Being at such a narrow point in the physical body it is vulnerable and can have an effect not only on the throat area but also the ears and the upper back.

Imbalances in this Chakra can manifest as being too talkative in an uncontrolled manner, being unable to keep a secret and discomfort in the ears e.g Tinnitus type conditions. Conversely, there can be fear talking, a painful throat or a feeling of having no voice.
